Burry Man – Short Film

Burry Man is a short film, written and directed by Simon Biggs (BAFTA award-winning director of Widdershins) and produced by Interference Pattern and Devil May Care.

Ended up wearing a few hats on this project, primarily Lead Technical Artist responsible for all character rigging, but also covering some props, UE scene layout, effects, shading, lighting and rendering. The film was produced using Unreal Engine 4.3, with animation in Autodesk Maya.

All the character and prop rigs were built in Maya with the mGear open-source framework – I’ve been working with mGear since the Softimage days and it’s a wonderful platform for assembling fast, easily customisable and updatable rigs.
